TeamScore Map View
In addition to the team dashboard, TeamScore offers a map view feature for accounts that include this in their plan. This feature provides a geographical representation of where your team members have been working on any given day.
How It Works
TeamScore uses IP addresses to estimate the location of where work was done, rather than device-based tracking. This means the map shows an illustrative view based on the IP address logged with each activity. However, not all data sources provide IP addresses, and some IP addresses may not accurately reflect the true location — for example, showing a cloud datacenter location instead of the user's actual location.
To maintain accuracy, TeamScore filters out such datacenter IP addresses so that the map reflects a realistic location of the work activity. If you notice inaccurate IP location data, please contact support using the chat feature inside TeamScore to help improve accuracy for all users.
Map Features
- User avatars appear on the map at the approximate locations they performed their work.
- Clicking an avatar shows a list of tracked activities for that user on that day.
- The number of avatars and activities shown is limited due to Google Maps API constraints, but it is designed to give a useful, illustrative overview.
This feature has proven helpful in real cases — for example, managers discovered that team members had traveled internationally without prior notice, which could have implications for insurance, workers' compensation, and tax compliance. Knowing where employees are working helps organizations stay compliant and avoid surprises.
Filtering
The map view includes the same filtering options as the dashboard table view, allowing you to narrow down the displayed data. You can filter by activity types, categories, or specific services to reduce clutter and focus on the information most relevant to you.
