Overview of the TeamScore Dashboard
The TeamScore Dashboard is the central hub for managers and executives to quickly view daily activity across their team. It provides a visual snapshot of each team member's workday through an innovative feature called the activity bar.
Understanding the Activity Bar
The activity bar displays various types of activities performed by a team member throughout their day. Activities include actions such as opening files, sending emails, attending calendar meetings, committing code on GitHub, updating JIRA issues, and managing CRM records in HubSpot or Salesforce.
These activities are color-coded into categories to make it easy to identify types of work at a glance. Importantly, the activity bar reflects each user’s activity in their local time zone. Accurate time zone setup is essential to properly represent when work was done.
TeamScore does not install any tracking agents or spyware on team members’ devices—this approach prevents invasive monitoring but means some periods may show gaps in tracked activity. Such gaps are normal and can correspond to breaks or untracked tasks like trade shows or face-to-face meetings.
Interpreting Gaps and Activity
- Gaps in the activity bar are expected for breaks like lunch.
- Significant unexpected gaps may warrant a friendly conversation to understand if the team member needs support.
- Non-digital activities that don't register in connected cloud services might also cause gaps.
Filtering and Navigating the Dashboard
Above the activity bar, the dashboard offers filtering tools:
- Search by name or email: Quickly find an individual by typing part of their first name, last name, or email.
- Date selection: Choose to view activity for today, yesterday, or any past date supported by your TeamScore plan.
- Activity categories and services: Filter activities by specific categories or connected services (e.g., Microsoft365, Google Workspace) to reduce noise and focus on particular types of work.
Team Member Rows and Scores
The main dashboard view lists each team member in a row, showing key information including:
- Score: A numeric score representing their activity for the day if it has been calculated, along with a colored circle indicating performance level.
- Workday start and end: Displayed based on the member’s personalized schedule, which you can customize per account or by individual (e.g., for half-day schedules).
The activity bar covers a full 24-hour day to capture all activity, including late or overnight work. This helps identify issues like improper time zone settings or potential overwork.
Understanding the TeamScore Number
TeamScore calculates a daily score for each user based on their tracked activity versus expected working hours. Key details include:
- Calculation timing: Scores are computed once daily at 1 a.m. and 4 a.m. in the user’s time zone, allowing time for all logs to be collected (especially from Microsoft365).
- Score representation: Scores show effort relative to the expected work target, not absolute hours. They are numeric and can exceed 100 to reflect extra effort.
- Score targets: By default, the goal is set to 80% of scheduled hours to acknowledge normal breaks and untracked tasks.
- Special icons: An hourglass icon means the score is still being calculated; a palm tree icon indicates a recognized non-work day like vacation or weekends.
Using the Dashboard Effectively
The dashboard helps managers gain a high-level understanding of their teams' daily efforts and work patterns without invasive monitoring. By reviewing activity patterns and scores, managers can support their team members, address unexpected gaps, and celebrate productive days.
For deeper investigation, managers can click on any team member’s name to view detailed activities for that day in the Activity View Screen, which is covered in a separate guide.
