Get answers to common questions about TeamScore’s privacy, integrations, and how we deliver actionable insights for modern managers.
We built TeamScore because we needed it. Remote and hybrid work created a disconnect between how work was happening and how managers were supporting teams. We wanted to give managers visibility into what their teams were working on - without using invasive spyware or productivity monitoring tools. Read more here.
No. No. TeamScore works passively by ingesting data from cloud services through audit logs and APIs. There is nothing to install on user devices. You can trial and configure TeamScore without notifying the broader team until you’re ready.
No, not at all. There’s no software to install. Just sign up, connect your cloud platforms (like Google Workspace or Microsoft 365), and you’re ready to go.
You can—but they’re usually designed for admins, not managers, and don’t combine data across platforms. TeamScore gives unified, manager-friendly insights across multiple cloud tools.
Yes, you need permission to access audit or activity log APIs. TeamScore includes a "Technical Admin" role that allows IT to manage setup without seeing user scores or activity.
TeamScore doesn't require the installation of software on the devices of your team members. We analyze historical and ongoing cloud activity (like file edits, meetings, emails) to rebuild the shape of the workday in a non-invasive way - useful and ethical.
We analyze cloud-based audit logs only. We never access keystrokes, screen captures, or files. TeamScore uses a strict role-based access model to control visibility.
Not yet. We’re undergoing external audits in 2025 and expect to achieve SOC 2 certification by the end of the year.
Yes. All data is encrypted in transit and at rest. API tokens are encrypted in the database. Authentication is via Google or Microsoft SSO only.
TeamScore uses secure, encrypted APIs to access or receive data from cloud platforms like Google Workspace and Microsoft 365. Data stays within TeamScore’s cloud infrastructure.
TeamScore is built with TypeScript, using Next.js (hosted by Vercel) for the front-end. The back-end runs on Supabase (Postgres), with workflows orchestrated by DBOS and CI/CD on GitHub.
Our servers are provided by Amazon Web Services (AWS) in either the US-East (Virginia) or EU-West (Ireland) for our European users.
TeamScore uses roles to control access. Members see only their own data. Managers see their direct reports. Executives can manage reporting structures. Technical Admins can set up connections but can't see team activity.
We retain your data for 30 days in case of accidental cancellation. After that, data is purged from our databases, with backups retained for up to 90 days.
TeamScore provides a series of built-in roles and custom roles for some plans:
No. As per our Terms of Service (Section 4.2), you retain all rights to your data. We will never sell your data or provide it to third parties. Per our Privacy Policy (Section 2.1), we retain the right to use aggregated, anonymized data to create benchmarks, reports and other useful features in the product. For Google Workspace data in particular, the use of raw or derived user data received from Workspace APIs will adhere to the Google User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements
Yes, only authorized users can access data and in addition to the Roles above, each user can be blocked from logging into your account. Setup can be handled by Technical Admins who don’t have access to score data unless they’re also designated managers.
Unlike other tools where IT can see everything, Technical Admins in TeamScore can configure integrations without visibility into individual data—keeping control separated from oversight.
We've chosen to make an always-free tier of the product available for three reasons. The first is that we deeply care about helping managers and the companies they work for be more successful - it is why we built the product. The second is that it is good business - the more people that use TeamScore, the more people who will tell other business owners and managers about us. The third reason is that we believe users who find value inTeamScore will willingly pay for a paid plan and its features.
No. As a subscription product that provides valuable insights into past team member performance, we do not provide refunds or credits if you change your mind or decide to cancel a paid plan during the period you've pre-paid for. While this might seem harsh, it would be common for someone to upgrade to a paid plan to temporarily add more users or increase their look-back reporting period, get the data they need (at significant cost to us to process it all) and then downgrade.
Yes. If you want to upgrade your account during your plan period, you will only be charged for the difference between the old plan and the new plan for the number of months (or parts thereof) that you have remaining on your current plan period.
No. While we often applaud the work and mission of various non-profit businesses and charities, we aren't willing or able to adjudicate on the alignment of values and mission between non-profit organizations and our company.
TeamScore is a product from Ascendius, Inc, a C-Corp registered in Nevada, USA. As is fitting for a product for managing remote and hybrid teams, we have team members in New York, Denver, Chicago and Manila. We are currently bootstrapped and are not looking to raise capital or bring in external investors in the foreseeable future.
The best way to help us is to spread the word - in a noisy market, word of mouth is worth more than ever! While we're not actively hiring, if you'd like to get in touch email us at [email protected].
