TeamScore Achieves SOC2 Certification!
TL;DR
TeamScore, while still in beta, acheived SOC2 certification from TAC Security, a NASDAQ-listed, Google-recommended security firm. This certification gives users confidence in the security of TeamScore and the operational processes to maintain its security.
We’ve got big news: TeamScore is officially SOC 2 certified. And yeah, even though this is a security focused accounting standard (queue yawns by most people), we’re pretty excited!
What is SOC 2 and why should you care?
For those not deep in the security world, SOC 2 is a rigorous, independent audit that confirms a company is running a tight ship when it comes to security, availability, processing integrity, confidentiality, and privacy. It’s not just a badge - it’s proof that we’re taking your data and our responsibilities very seriously.
The process isn't for the faint-hearted. Getting SOC 2-compliant meant creating and validating hundreds of pages of documentation, tightening workflows, and locking down access controls across our systems. And then, we invited external auditors in to pick it all apart and make sure we weren’t just playing pretend.
Why on earth would a startup do this so soon?
When a startup launches a new product, they mostly focus on things than getting SOC2. They wait until they’ve hit revenue. Some wait until they’re chasing enterprise deals and they're forced to. Honestly, many just never do it. But we wanted to build TeamScore better than most startup products.
We chose to do this now - while we’re still in public beta and pre-revenue - because we know that trust is earned, not assumed. We built TeamScore to help teams grow, align, and perform. But if our customers can't trust us with their most sensitive data, then we're wasting our time (and theirs).
Our decision to pursue SOC 2 this early is a clear signal that security isn’t an afterthought - it’s foundational. We’re not playing to pass audits down the line. We've built our security and processes right from the start, so even our beta users can trust us.
So what does this mean for you?
If you're considering bringing TeamScore into your org, SOC 2 means:
- Confidence: You’re working with a company that prioritizes the security and integrity of your data — now, not later.
- Transparency: We’ve opened our processes to external scrutiny and passed.
- Discipline: Our internal workflows, access controls, and operational policies meet a high bar — and we’re committed to keeping them there.
What this says about us
For us, this isn’t a checkbox. It’s culture. We’re honest enough to say that SOC 2 is a grind. But we’re proud to have done the hard work early, because it is the right thing to do.
